Natural Resources Inventories

WakeNature Preserves Partnership is developing sample templates for hiring consultants to do inventory and environmental assessments. Stay tuned… in the mean time, here are some examples.

Requests for Qualifications (RFQ)
The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department completes a “System Integration Plan” or “SIP” after purchasing a park property and before planning for its development. The objective of the System Integration Plan (SIP) is to develop a set of guidelines for the interim management of parkland prior to the initiation of a Master Plan, to document existing site conditions and constraints, to establish the park’s classification consistent with the Comprehensive Plan, and if applicable, any proposed special intent for the park. Public notification is given about this process and the public has an opportunity to comment on the draft SIP. For more information see the City’s Park Master Planning Policy (Resolution 2003-735). These documents are used to solicit responses from consultants to complete the work.
